This is a key area of our PSHE curriculum and is carried out in many ways from observing classroom discussions, taking part in role play activities and looking in books. We complete a pre and post assessment task at the start and end of a unit of work. We then assess against the objectives within the unit of work to see if each child has achieved 'working at' age related expectations. If a child does not meet the expected standard then we look at how those gaps can be plugged moving forwards and assess whether we need the support of the inclusion team or Cluster.
