National Tutoring ProgrammE

The National Tutoring Programme (NTP) provides primary schools with funding to spend on targeted academic support, delivered by trained and experienced tutors and mentors.

This year the school has received a grant of approximately £11,988. We have used the funding to pay for an academic mentor to be in school 3 days a week from 8:00 until 4:00 to provide intensive support for those children who need it most.

We are fortunate to have secured a tutor who is an experienced primary school teacher who also provided tutoring for our pupils in the last academic year. Having a tutor who is already familiar with our school, the staff and our processes is a huge benefit and they have already begun working with the children at the start of this academic year.

Having an academic mentor provides flexibility in how and when we provide support for our children and is an invaluable asset to the school.

This is overseen by SLT who will ensure that children who need the support most have access to this whilst still accessing a full and rounded curriculum.
